Man Attempts Carjacking in Wilmington Parking Lot

WILMINGTON, DE — Delaware State Police apprehended 38-year-old Daniel Russo of Wilmington on Monday morning for attempted robbery and related charges after an attempted carjacking that took place at the Amazon parking lot located at 1025 Boxwood Road, Wilmington.

According to the criminal complaint, a 29-year-old woman walked through the parking lot to her car and was approached by Russo, who demanded she give him the keys. When she refused, Russo attempted to remove her from the driver’s seat. After a brief struggle, the woman escaped to Amazon security. Russo was apprehended by troopers who were alerted to his presence by security and other employees.

Russo was transported to Troop 2 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Attempted Robbery Second Degree (Felony)
  • Offensive Touching

Russo appeared before the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and was granted release on his own recognizance.
