WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have arrested a man on robbery and gun charges.
Authorities state that on September 19 at approximately 12:28 p.m. police responded to the area of 5th and Van Buren Streets for a call of a person armed with a gun. Police quickly took 41-year-old Asmar Tucker into custody without incident and recovered a .22 caliber handgun. Through further investigation, it was learned that Tucker had just stolen the handgun in the area of 2nd and North Jackson Streets pointed it in the direction of a crowd of bystanders.
Tucker was charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Reckless Endangering 1st Degree
- Aggravated Menacing (2 counts)
- Theft of Firearm
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child (2 counts)
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $78,000 cash-only bail.
