Man Arrested on Gun Charges by Wilmington Police

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of wanted 26-year-old Kenai Truitt on gun charges.

The criminal complaint alleges that on May 3, at approximately 1:10 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the 700 block of West 5th Street, when they observed a wanted subject. Officers conducted a pedestrian stop of 26-year-old Kenai Truitt, who was taken into custody without incident. Following a brief investigation, Truitt was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun.

Truitt has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $30,000 cash-only bail.
