Man Arrested in Wilmington After Cocaine, Oxycodone, and 2 MDMA Pills Recovered


WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of 42-year-old Vernett Shaw on drug charges following an investigation.

Authorities stated that on January 11 at approximately 3:23 p.m., members of Wilmington’s Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division executed a search warrant in the unit block of West 41st Street following a drug investigation.  Police took Vernett Shaw into custody without incident.  Police recovered 9.9 grams of cocaine, 13 Oxycodone pills, 2 MDMA pills, and drug paraphernalia.

Shaw was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 1 Quantity (2 counts)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $3,100 unsecured bail.
