Man Arrested in Connection With Wilmington’s June 4 Shooting

WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington Police investigation has resulted in an arrest in connection with a June 4 shooting incident.

Authorities state that on June 4 at approximately 8:49 a.m., police responded to the 1300 block of A Street. Responding officers located a 43-year-old male gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

The case was assigned to Detective John O’Connor Jr. of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective O’Connor identified 40-year-old Aaron Cryor as a suspect. An arrest warrant was obtained for the suspect, who was taken into custody without incident on June 10.

Cryor was charged with the following offenses:

  • Assault (1st Degree)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Criminal Mischief Under $1,000

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $50,050 cash-only bail.
