Man Arrested in Connection With West 9th Street Robbery

WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington Police investigation has resulted in an arrest in connection with a September 15 robbery.

Authorities stated that on September 15 at approximately 10:40 a.m., police responded to the 100 block of West 9th Street for a robbery that had occurred.  The case was assigned to Detective John O’Connor of the Criminal Investigations Division.  Through the course of his investigation, Detective O’Connor identified 39-year-old Calvin Ushery as a suspect.  An arrest warrant was secured for the suspect who was taken into custody without incident on September 22.

Ushery was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony
  • Robbery 1st Degree
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
  • Criminal Mischief Under $5,000

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $130,500 cash-only bail.
