Man Arrested for Cocaine Possession in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of 45-year-old Lamarr McElderry on drug charges.

According to authorities, on January 8 at approximately 9:50 p.m., police conducted a vehicle stop in the 600 block of North Walnut Street. Police made contact with an occupant, identified as Lamarr McElderry, and following a brief investigation, allegedly recovered 24 grams of cocaine and $385 in currency.  Police took McElderry into custody without incident.

McElderry was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity.

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $5,000 secured bail.

Information, a criminal complaint, or an arrest is not a declaration of guilt. A suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
