Man Arrested During Burglary in Progress

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have arrested a man during a burglary in progress.

Authorities state that on January 4 at approximately 6:15 a.m. police responded to the 2200 block of North Market Street for a report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, police made contact with 34-year-old Jermaine Powell.  Powell was found to be in possession of burglary tools.  Following a brief investigation, police identified Powell as the suspect in the burglary.  He was taken into custody without incident.

Powell was charged with the following offenses:

  • Burglary 3rd Degree
  • Possession of Burglary Tools
  • Criminal Mischief Under $1,000

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $2,100 unsecured bail.
