Man Arrested After Gun and Marijuana Found in Vehicle

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of 21-year-old Neko Montez on gun and drug charges.

According to the criminal complaint, on  March 15, at approximately 6:12 p.m., members of Wilmington’s Street Crimes Unit conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 900 block of Delaware Avenue. Upon stopping the vehicle officers made contact with 21-year-old Neko Montez. Following a brief investigation, a loaded 9mm handgun, and 86.99 grams of marijuana were recovered.

Montez was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Three Counts
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
  • Possession of Marijuana

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $50,001 cash-only bail.
