WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of three men on gun and drug charges following an investigation.
The criminal complaint alleges that beginning in May, members of the FBI Task Force have been conducting an investigation into illegal drug sales in the West Center City area of Wilmington.
On August 22, members of the FBI Task Force and the Wilmington Police Department’s Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division executed search warrants in the 800 block of West 5th Street, and the 1400 block of West 6th Street. Police took 45-year-old Antonio Carter, 19-year-old David Loper, and 46-year-old Dwayne Britt into custody without incident and recovered two loaded 9mm handguns, a 10mm handgun, a loaded .40 caliber handgun, 23.4 grams of crack cocaine, 71.5 Ecstasy pills, .175 grams of Fentanyl, $4,201, and drug paraphernalia.
Antonio Carter has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony – Two Counts
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited – 3 Counts
- Receiving a Stolen Firearm
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 3 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $88,000 cash-only bail.
David Loper has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony – Two Counts
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited – Three Counts
- Receiving a Stolen Firearm
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 3 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $83,000 cash-only bail.
Dwayne Britt has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony – Two Counts
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited – Three Counts
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $61,500 cash-only bail.
