Lane Closure Alert: Resurfacing Scheduled on Marshall Road in Lansdowne, Upper Darby

Expect Traffic Delays in Chester County

PennDOT announced a resurfacing project on Marshall Road in Lansdowne Borough and Upper Darby Township, Delaware County. The total project aims to improve travel and safety by upgrading signals, modifying intersections, and resurfacing the corridor. A lane closure with flagging is scheduled between Plumstead Avenue and Powell Lane.

The work schedules and locations are:

  • Wednesday, July 12, through Thursday, August 3, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Marshall Road between Plumstead Avenue and Powell Lane.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

PennDOT will be implementing a safety improvement project that includes upgrading signalization, modifying intersections, and resurfacing the corridor. Additionally, Marshall Road will be transformed into a three-lane corridor with left and right-turn lanes at various intersections. These improvements aim to enhance optimization, emergency incident management, as well as travel and safety conditions on the road.

Road-Con, Inc. of West Chester, Chester County is the general contractor on the $4,204,835 project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
