PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) installations will take place on Interstate 95 as part of the ongoing permanent reconstruction project at the Cottman Avenue Interchange in Northeast Philadelphia.
On Wednesday, May 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, a right lane closure will be in effect on northbound I-95 between the Betsy Ross Bridge and Academy Road interchanges. PennDOT advises motorists to plan for extra travel time, as significant traffic backups and delays are anticipated in the work area.
These scheduled activities are weather dependent and represent a critical step in enhancing the infrastructure and safety systems on one of the region’s busiest highways. Drivers are urged to remain alert and exercise caution while navigating through the construction zone.
