Hit-and-Run Incident: Auto-Pedestrian Accident on Lehigh Avenue Leaves Victim in Critical Condition

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department’s Crash Investigation Division announced they are investigating a hit-and-run that occurred Tuesday, leaving a victim in extremely critical condition.

According to Investigators, on September 5, 2023, at 8:50 P.M., Philadelphia responded to the 24XX block of East Lehigh Avenue for an auto-pedestrian accident fleeing the scene. A dark color sedan vehicle was traveling westbound on Lehigh Avenue. The pedestrian who was attempting to cross Lehigh Avenue on foot from the North side to the South side at the crosswalk was hit by the vehicle, which continued west on Lehigh Avenue. PFD-Medic Unit transported the pedestrian to Temple University Hospital where he is listed in extremely critical condition. Scene was held. The investigation is active and ongoing with the Crash Investigation Division.

The vehicle in question is a dark-colored vehicle with a PA temporary license plate number 4183108. The suspect, on the other hand, is described as a male with a dark complexion, although his race remains unknown.
