Help Solve the Mystery: Cold Case Unit Seeks Public’s Aid in 2019 Murder of Hakeem Smalls

WILMINGTON, DE — The Wilmington Police Department’s Cold Case Unit is asking for the assistance of the public in connection to the 2019 murder of Hakeem Smalls.

Investigators say that on September 27, 2019, at approximately 11:39 p.m., police were dispatched to the 2500 block of North Monroe Street in reference to a call for shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located 25-year-old Hakeem Smalls, who had been shot and later succumbed to his injuries.

This investigation remains ongoing, and investigators are asking the public for assistance. Anyone with information about this investigation, or any other cold case, is being encouraged to contact the WPD Cold Case Unit:
