Help Find the Person Responsible for Robbing a 66 Year-Old Woman

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Northwest Detective Division of the Philadelphia Police Department is seeking help identifying the person behind a brazen theft.

According to the detectives, on May 1, 2023, a 66-year-old woman was robbed outside Wells Fargo Bank at 101 E. Olney Ave. The perpetrator – who appeared to be a black male in his late 20s, roughly 5’4″ and of a thin build, wearing a black hat, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and gray pants – forcibly took $700 from the victim while she tried to keep it in her purse. A brief struggle ensued before the offender got away and was last seen heading north through the shopping center parking lot. Fortunately, the victim was unharmed.
