Help Catch the Gel Pellet Shooter: Philadelphia Police Seeking Public’s Help

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the individual and locating the vehicle seen in a released video clip.

Detective Schell with the Central Detective Division states that on May 17, 2023, at approximately 10:17 pm, the victim, a 50-year-old-female, was standing at 1500 Market Street when she was hit with several gel-like pellets which were fired from a dark color sedan that was stopped at the traffic light. The sedan then left the scene and headed south on 15th St. The victim was not injured.

The suspect is a young black male with a light complexion, aged between 18 and 20 years old. The suspected vehicle is a dark-colored late-model sedan, possibly a Volkswagen Passat.
