NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA — GMH Capital Partners (“GMH”), the real estate investment subsidiary of GMH Associates, announced this week it is now GMH Communities. Residents and investors can still expect the same exceptional service GMH has delivered for the last three decades, just with a new name, look, feel, and expanded focus. Under the GMH Communities umbrella are three verticals representing each of the company’s focus areas: GMH Student Living, GMH Innovative Living (a new offering), and GMH Residential Living.
n 1985, Gary Holloway Sr. founded GMH Associates as a full-service real estate company whose first inroad to student housing was the conversion of a troubled multifamily property at Penn State University. Through a series of institutional partnerships, GMH grew to become the largest owner of student housing in the nation before the sale of its Student Housing Division to American Campus Communities in 2008. Additionally, GMH leveraged its experience in student housing to become a national player in military privatization. It was these two business lines that led GMH to be known as a niche player in the multifamily space.
In total, GMH has owned and operated over 75,000 units in its 36 year history.
“Since our inception, GMH has been an innovator in the commercial real estate space. By developing a unique strategy, we became known as niche players in the multifamily market and quickly rose to a top owner/operator in the student housing and military housing spaces,” said Gary Holloway Jr., President at GMH Communities. “Thanks to our diverse and talented team, unwavering devotion to our residents and investors, and first-class services and amenities, we continue to exceed expectations. We are proud of our past but even more excited for what the future at GMH Communities holds.”
Since 2003, second-generation leader Gary Holloway Jr. has positioned GMH Capital Partners, now GMH Communities, as a leader and innovator with core expertise in the multifamily industry. GMH Communities prides itself on its multi-disciplined, full-service team, substantial balance sheet, and proven market and operational expertise. Its tenured executive team has deep industry relationships and takes a dual entrepreneurial-approach/institutional discipline to investment, development, construction, and property management.
Recent additions to its growing portfolio include ANOVA uCity Square, The Yards at Malvern, and The Dean Campustown.
