PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Water Department announced that water main construction will begin on Frankford Avenue on Monday, June 17.
From Monday through Friday, June 21, Frankford Avenue will be closed and detoured between Belgrade Street and Master Street from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Belgrade Street and Master Street. Local access will be maintained up to the work zone.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the construction area as backups and delays are expected. All scheduled activities are weather-dependent.
This project is being completed under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit and aims to improve the water infrastructure in the area. The Philadelphia Water Department urges drivers to be patient and plan accordingly to avoid disruptions.
