Fentanyl, Cocaine and Marijuana Seized in Major Drug Bust

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of three men on drug charges following an investigation.

Authorities stated that on March 8 at approximately 4:06 p.m., members of Wilmington’s Drug, Organized Crime and Vice Division and the DEA Task Force were in the 700 block of West 8th Street conducting a drug investigation when they made contact with 24-year-old James Wing, 29-year-old Karon Phillips of Elkton, MD, and 22-year-old Shamar Foster. All three subjects were taken into custody without incident, and police recovered 37.4 grams of Cocaine, .504 grams of Fentanyl, 26.3 grams of marijuana and $1,375 in currency. All three suspects were found to be wanted on unrelated matters.

Wing has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 1 Quantity
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver – Two Counts

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $12,000 cash-only bail.

Phillips has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 3 Quantity
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 3 Quantity

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $40,000 cash-only bail.

Foster has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance – Three Counts

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $15,000 cash-only bail.
