Fatal Shooting Investigation: Philadelphia Police on the Hunt for Suspect

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit is currently investigating a shooting that occurred at 17th & South Streets on Monday, September 25th, 2023, around 11:42 PM. The male victim was found dead inside his vehicle, which was observed pulled over to the side of the street.

According to the department’s report, the victim was shot multiple times in the head and shoulders. After the shooting, the suspect exited the vehicle from the right rear passenger door and walked away. He was last seen walking westbound on Kater Street from 19th Street.

The City of Philadelphia is offering a reward of $20,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this homicide case.

The suspect is described as a Black male, possibly in his mid-twenties to mid-thirties, with a medium build. He had a beard and was wearing all-black clothing, carrying a black backpack at the time of the incident.

The Philadelphia Police Department urges anyone who sees the suspect not to approach him but to contact 911 immediately. To submit a tip via telephone, individuals can dial 215.686.TIPS (8477) or text a tip to the same number. All tips will be kept confidential.
