The Fairmount Park Horticulture Center is transforming into a pop-up summer oasis – “Getaway at the Greenhouse.” This frost-free fun fiesta is happening from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, and Sunday, February 11, 2024.
Step into the greenhouse and be transported to a world of summer sunshine. With music wafting through the air, an array of games and activities await, alongside a coffee truck to keep your caffeine levels topped up, and a cash bar serving up delightful cocktails. Admission is free, and all activities are complimentary, with food and drinks available on a pay-as-you-go basis.
New to Getaway at the Greenhouse in 2024 is the exciting addition of an obstacle course curated by Child’s Play Challenge Courses. This adrenaline-pumping feature invites both adults and children to participate. Brace yourself for an exhilarating run through the noodle tower, a challenging climb up the rock wall, a crawl through the cargo net, an agile maneuver through the tire run, and a test of balance on the floating steps. Tickets for the obstacle course are available in 30-minute slots, ensuring everyone gets a chance to tackle the course.
But that’s not all! Some favorite features are making a much-anticipated return to the greenhouse. These include the ‘Getaway’ kids and adult meals, an assortment of games and activities, and local food truck vendors selling delicious coffee and pastries. And let’s not forget the ever-popular Display House Lounge, offering a comfortable seating area and a well-stocked bar.
