WILMINGTON, DE — The Wilmington Police Department is ready to kick off the new year with its monthly Community Resource Fair, providing locals a unique opportunity to interact with various police officers and community service providers. Scheduled for Thursday, January 18, from 4-6 p.m., the event will be held at the Police Athletic League of Wilmington, located at 3707 North Market Street.

Launched in 2022 as an extension of the National Night Out celebrations, these monthly Community Resource Fairs have become a staple in Wilmington’s social calendar. They have been instrumental in fostering a strong bond between the police department, government bodies, non-profit organizations, and the residents of Wilmington.

Since its inception as a monthly series in 2023, these fairs have been hosted at various locations throughout Wilmington. These include the William “Hicks” Anderson Community Center, the MSK Community Center, Latin American Community Center, Helen Chambers Park, Cool Springs Park, and several others.

The upcoming fair is no different! It’s free and open to all, making it a perfect family outing. There will be plenty of public safety-related giveaways and delicious food to enjoy.

Partners and vendors interested in participating in the fair must pre-register. Please note that participation is limited to government and nonprofit organizations offering free services to Wilmington residents.

So, mark your calendars and get ready to engage with your community like never before. The Wilmington Police Department looks forward to welcoming you at the Police Athletic League of Wilmington on January 18. For more information about the event, head over to www.WilmingtonDE.gov/ResourceFairs.
