LANCASTER, PA — Lancaster’s best holiday celebration has again been chosen as one of the country’s ‘Best Theme Park Holiday Events’ in a USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice poll! This is the second consecutive 10Best honor for Dutch Winter Wonderland and the second major award for Dutch Wonderland this year, having previously won the Amusement Today Golden Ticket for Best Family Park, its third consecutive win in that premier amusement industry poll.

“This year Dutch Winter Wonderland introduced its largest number of lights, plus a revamped Royal Light Show and the still-to-come Duke’s Diamond New Year’s Eve, so it’s thrilling to be recognized for all the work our team puts in,” said James Paulding, Dutch Wonderland General Manager. “Knowing how much these seasonal celebrations mean to our guests, we’re excited to introduce new events to our resort in 2023 and look forward to sharing more details soon.”

Dutch Winter Wonderland features hundreds of thousands of holiday lights – including the Royal Light show, where more than 30,000 lights dance to music – plus 20 attractions and delicious seasonal food and drinks. The event is open this Saturday and Sunday, then daily December 26 – January 1. Still to come, Duke’s Diamond New Year’s Eve will include a bubble dance party, meet-and-greets with Duke the Dragon, and the big Diamond Drop New Year’s countdown all beginning at 3:30 p.m. on December 31. This kid-friendly New Year’s Eve bash is free for all guests with admission to the park.

A panel of industry experts including editors from USA Today, editors from 10Best.com, and other expert contributors choose USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice nominees. Dutch Wonderland’s sister park, Kennywood, located in Pittsburgh, PA, was also voted a winner in the poll. Featuring Pennsylvania’s tallest Christmas tree at 100 feet, Kennywood’s Holiday Lights event presents more than two million twinkling lights, 20 family rides, model trains and more.
