WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of a male and female on gun and drug charges in connection with an investigation.
Dawon Brown, age 34, has been charged with two counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, three counts of Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited, three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 1 Quantity, and additional releated charges.
Brandi Henry, age 32, has been charged with two counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, two counts of Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited, three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver, and additional releated charges.
The criminal complaint alleges that beginning in February, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division have been conducting an investigation into illegal drug sales in the 700 block of North Pine Street. On June 21, at approximately 11:54 a.m., police executed a search warrant in that block and took 34-year-old Dawon Brown and 32-year-old Brandi Henry into custody without incident. Police recovered two loaded 9mm handguns, 5.2 grams of crack cocaine, .252 grams of heroin, 2.2 grams of marijuana, $1,208, and drug paraphernalia.
Brown was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $129,000 cash-only bail.
Henry was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $55,000 cash-only bail.
