Dramatic Heist at Sunoco Gas Station in Philadelphia Captured on Surveillance Video

PHILADELPHIA, PA — In a brazen robbery caught on surveillance video, three unknown males smashed two lottery machines with sledgehammers at a Sunoco gas station in Philadelphia and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robbery occurred at around 2:05 AM on July 19, 2022, when the suspects approached the gas station located at 3200 Richmond Street. One of the suspects stayed by the front entrance while the other two entered. The two men who entered then approached the cashier booth and one of them simulated having a weapon in his waist area before ordering the employee to put his hands up. The two men then proceeded to strike the lottery play machines with sledgehammers and removed the cash boxes from them before fleeing back to a waiting vehicle.

The suspects then loaded the cash boxes into the rear of a newer model white Ford Escape that was occupied by a fourth male in the driver seat and fled the scene. Detectives are currently investigating the incident and are asking for anyone with information to come forward.
