VILLANOVA, PA — Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, one of the nation’s oldest and largest nonprofit providers of behavioral healthcare, this week opened the Devereux Day Academy – Audubon, an Approved Private School, in Lower Providence Township, Pennsylvania.
Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services’ Devereux Day Academy – Audubon will offer high-quality, innovative special education programming for students in grades 1-12 with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences who require a higher level of care than may be provided in their local schools.
The Academy will serve up to 32 students in four classrooms, with eight students per classroom. The school’s core curriculum is aligned with the Pennsylvania Core Standards, as well as the curricula of Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services’ partner school districts. This alignment will facilitate smooth transitions for students to and from the day program, and their local schools.
“We are excited to continue the expansion of our educational programs in the Commonwealth. With the opening of the Devereux Day Academy – Audubon, we now have six Approved Private Schools to serve students in southeast Pennsylvania,” said Devereux Vice President of Educational Services Jacalyn Auris, Ed.D. “Our new school will provide much-needed educational services for students in the greater Norristown area. A focus of this school will be developing strong partnerships with local school districts so students can enjoy an integrated school experience and participate in home district programming and activities.”
