In light of the recent social media post that threatened the safety of Gunning Bedford Middle School on March 20, 2023, the Delaware State Police stated they are taking the situation with utmost seriousness. The DSP has initiated proactive safety measures to ensure all students and staff remain safe during this time. Moreover, families have been advised to maintain open communication with their children and share any concerning information either with school administrators or members of the DSP.
Authorities state that the Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this threat. Troopers are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact Detective A. Desiderio by calling (302) 834-8475. Information may also be provided by sending a Private Facebook Message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
