PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that bridge repairs will continue next week on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia under a $44.6 million bridge improvement project to perform high-priority repairs on several structures on interstates in Philadelphia, Delaware, and Bucks counties.

The work schedule and location are:

  • Monday, August 28, through Thursday, August 31, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled in both directions on I-95 between the Columbus Boulevard and the Route 611 (Broad Street) interchanges.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The project involves repairing various components of the structures, such as rocker bearings, sliding plate bearings, and deck expansion joints. Additionally, it includes the replacement of high mast light poles along the I-95 corridor in Philadelphia and Delaware counties.

Driscoll Construction Company, Inc. of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
