CVS Pharmacy Theft: Woman With 20 Prior Convictions Charged

LANCASTER, PA — The Manheim Township Police Department announced the arrest of a woman on theft charges.

Alvinia P. Barnes, age 54, of Lancaster, PA has been charged with Retail Theft and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Arrest in response to a shoplifting incident that occurred March 24, 2023, at the CVS Pharmacy located at 1507 Lititz Pk .

According to the criminal complaint, the witness was an Uber driver for a female who was wearing a leather jacket and had a limp. She asked the witness to bring her to CVS Pharmacy. Barnes entered CVS Pharmacy, filled a shopping cart, passed all final points of sale, and exited the store without paying for the products totaling $327.78. She then threw the merchandise in the witness’ car and proceeded to leave on foot. Officers arrived and located the female matching the description. She was then identified as Alvinia Barnes. The suspect stated that she smoked crack and “all sorts of things”. Barnes was reportedly in the possession of a “crack pipe”. Police state that Alvinia Barnes has 20 prior convictions for Retail Theft.

After the criminal complaint was filed, Alvinia P. Barnes was taken into custody by Lancaster County Sheriffs.
