WEST READING, PA — For the fourth year in a row, Customers Bank is being recognized by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency as a top-10 lending partner. Customers Bank placed 6th overall, advancing from 7th in the previous year. And for the fourth consecutive year, Customers Bank was ranked as the #1 lender in the Loans to Minority First-time Homebuyers category.
All three of the bank’s CRA loan officers, Elsie Maduro, Crystal Weston and Rosa Hernandez, were recognized as top producing originators. Elsie Maduro, Vice President, Senior CRA Loan Officer at Customers Bank, was recognized as PHFA’s third top producer for having 53 of her 205 closed loans being PHFA mortgages.
“Everyone at Customers Bank is very proud of our team’s effort and continued commitment to helping Pennsylvania residents achieve homeownership as that is also an important step along the path to building personal wealth,” said Sam Sidhu, Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Customers Bank. “We have a long track record of helping families and individuals recognize their dream of homeownership. Our partnership with PHFA is essential to us, and being recognized as a top mortgage originator and the number one minority lender in Pennsylvania for the fourth consecutive year demonstrates the dedication of all of our Team Members to support the communities we serve.”
More than 80 lending partners with hundreds of mortgage originators across Pennsylvania participate in the program. The rankings were based on the total volume of closings for PHFA home loans throughout the year. PHFA held a virtual event on May 6 to recognize its annual homeownership awards recipients.
Customers Bank realizes that every real estate purchase has its own financial characteristics. The bank offers numerous mortgage programs to assist everyone from first-time homebuyers to individuals and families seeking to purchase their dream home.
