WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of an 18-year-old man in connection to a May shooting incident and a July robbery, and the recovery of three stolen motor vehicles.
Jayden Robinson has been charged with Assault, Robbery, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Receiving Stolen Property, and multiple additional releated criminal offenses.
The criminal complaint alleges that on May 16, at approximately 11:52 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 800 block of Brown Street, in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, officers located a 17-year-old male gunshot victim who was transported to the hospital in stable condition. The case was assigned to Detective Brendan Shea of the Criminal Investigations Division.
Through the course of his investigation, Detective Shea identified 18-year-old Jayden Robinson as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest.
On July 5, at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 2000 block of Baynard Boulevard for a robbery that had just occurred. Following a brief investigation, officers identified 18-year-old Jayden Robinson as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest.
On July 6, 10:30 a.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force were in the 2200 block of Spruce Street, when they observed an occupied stolen motor vehicle. Officers took 18-year-old Jayden Robinson into custody without incident. Subsequently, officers recovered two additional stolen motor vehicles in the same block.
Robinson was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $118,500 cash-only bail.
Information, a criminal complaint, or an arrest is not a declaration of guilt. A suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
