Core Borings, Sign Installation Next Week on I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia

Travel Restrictions

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that core borings and overhead sign installation are scheduled next week on Interstate 95 in Northeast Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

  • Monday, December 12, through Thursday, December 15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, intermittent lane and shoulder closures will be in place in both directions on I-95 between the Allegheny Avenue and Bridge Street interchanges for core borings;
  • Wednesday, December 14, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, double right lane closures will be in place in both directions on I-95 between the Cottman Avenue and Bridge Street interchanges for overhead sign installation; and
  • Thursday, December 15, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a double right lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 between the Cottman Avenue and Bridge Street interchanges for overhead sign installation.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area or use an alternate route because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
