Construction Planned Next Week on I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia

lane closure - traffic alert

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that construction is scheduled at night next week on Interstate 95 for barrier placements to set a new traffic pattern under the $267.9 million Section BS2 project to reconstruct I-95 at the Bridge Street Interchange in Northeast Philadelphia.

The work schedules and locations are:

  • Monday, March 13, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a left lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 between the Betsy Ross Bridge and Bridge Street interchanges; and
  • Tuesday, March 14, and Wednesday, March 15, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a single lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95 between the Betsy Ross Bridge and Bridge Street interchanges.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area or use an alternate route because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
