WILMINGTON, DE — The Wilmington Police Department announced it is hosting its monthly Coffee with a Cop event at Starbucks on 627 North Market Street on Wednesday, April 12 from 9 to 11 a.m., giving members of the public an opportunity to interact with officers, ask questions and learn about resources available in their community.

Coffee with a Cop provides an informal atmosphere for members of the community to come together, have conversations, and build relationships with police officers. This event is free and open to all members of the public. Everyone is welcome to join and take part in this unique opportunity!

“We want people to feel comfortable talking with us,” said a department spokesperson. “We encourage customers coming in for their coffee and bakery treats to stop by our table, interact with some of our police officers and pick up some public safety-related information and giveaways.”

Coffee with a Cop events are designed to break down barriers between police officers and citizens through conversation over coffee. They provide an opportunity for citizens to ask questions, voice concerns, or simply get to know the officers who serve them every day. Events like this also help strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

At this month’s event, officers will be available for conversations about topics such as public safety initiatives in your area, crime prevention tips, or any other issues you may have on your mind. The goal is for everyone who attends the event to walk away feeling more connected with their local law enforcement agency.
