LANCASTER, PA — For the 3rd consecutive year, Lancaster’s Clipper Magazine Stadium has been named “Best MLB Partner League Ballpark” by Baseball Digest.  The award, voted by fans, saw the stadium, home to the Lancaster Barnstormers, defeat Haymarket Park, the home field of the Lincoln Saltdogs and the Nebraska Cornhuskers.   In all, 48 ballparks were entered in the competition, representing the American Association, Atlantic League, Frontier League and Pioneer League.

Clipper Magazine Stadium, which opened to the public on May 11, 2005, is best known for baseball, playing host to 66 total Barnstormers home games this season.  But the stadium’s non-game day slate of special events is actually greater this year.  Past and upcoming events include: the American Mock Trial National Tournament; Community Services Group 5k; Lancaster Pride; graduations for McCaskey High School, Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, PA College of Health Sciences, Insight PA Cyber School and ABC; Christmas Spirit Drive Through Lights Show; Valour Professional Wrestling; Representative Mike Sturla Backpack Giveaway; Lancaster-Lebanon Tournament; July 3 FREE Independence Day Celebration in partnership with Nordstrom and Truist; plus kickball leagues, blood drives, baseball and softball camps and clinics, movie nights, carnivals, job fairs, corporate events and so much more.

The stadium is filled with many amenities and features, such as a state of the art Kids Park with inflatables and a Carousel, the May-Grant Obstetrics & Gynecology Little Sluggers Dugout for Nursing Mothers, the TEC Pavilion that hosts hundreds of groups over the course of the season for picnics catered by Hess’s BBQ, the Capital Blue Cross Backyard with the most unique view of the field that is also equipped with yard games like cornhole, the Broken Bat Craft Beer Deck (featuring beers from nearly 20 local Pennsylvania craft breweries), the Subaru Outdoor Experience located down the right field line that has table games like Jenga and the Gunterberg Foundation Suite Level that is active year round with indoor, climate controlled events in luxury with professional catering from our own catering company, Otto’s Hospitality.

We are also extremely proud of the abundance of delicious food offerings fans and groups can find at the ballpark including local brands Frisco’s Chicken, Blazin J’s, Hess’s BBQ and Fuddruckers among numerous other mouth-watering options that exist in our concessions stands and the Gunterberg Foundation Suite Level.

Lancaster Barnstormers President and General Manager, Mike Reynolds, is thrilled with the stadium receiving this special honor for three years in a row.  “We owe a debt of gratitude to our year-round staff, our sponsors, community partners, ownership and the fans.  A special shout out to our incredible event staff and volunteer program through the United Way of Lancaster County that work hard to provide the best experience to all visitors of Clipper Magazine Stadium year-round.  Every day we strive to make this the best ballpark we possibly can.  Cleanliness, striving to provide the best experience and constantly updating the ballpark are always top priorities.”

Jen Cardina, Vice President of Marketing for Clipper Magazine, added “we are very proud of Clipper Magazine Stadium winning the Best of the Ballparks for the third year in a row. The stadium and the team are a respected part of our community and represent what we are passionate about – local businesses. This recognition fuels our commitment to helping communities thrive.”

To celebrate this honor, the Lancaster Barnstormers will hold a “Three-peat Thursday” on Thursday, July 14.  Tickets to the game are available for just $3.  In addition, there will be a $3 craft beer special at the Broken Bat Craft Beer Deck.
