Chaotic Scenes Unfold: Philadelphia Police Respond to Large Crowds and Reckless Driving at Gas Station

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Major Crimes Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying any of the following vehicles & participants observed on location.

Investigators allege that on July 23, 2023, the Philadelphia Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls of large crowds, vehicles, ATV’s & dirt bikes gathering at the Sunoco gas station and operating recklessly at 1300 N. Broad Street.

Upon arrival a large crowd was observed. After repeated verbal warnings were given, the officers proceeded into the lot to move the crowd. During this, a uniformed officer was struck by a vehicle that was exiting the parking lot.
