Bucks and Montgomery Roads: Major Resurfacing Disruptions Ahead

Traffic Advisory

SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a significant resurfacing effort targeting state highways in Bucks and Montgomery counties. As part of an extensive initiative to repair and pave over 200 miles of highways in the Philadelphia region, several roadways will experience temporary lane closures.

From September 3 to September 6, nighttime milling and paving will take place on Route 413 (Langhorne Newtown Road) at the Route 332 (Newtown Bypass) Interchange in Middletown Township, Bucks County. Lane closures will occur from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

Simultaneously, Kutztown Road in Upper Hanover Township, Montgomery County, will see lane closures for similar work between Route 663 (Layfield Road) and the Berks County line. This project will operate from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM each day.

Additionally, Swamp Creek Road in Marlborough Township, Montgomery County, is scheduled for resurfacing. Lane closures will be effective during the same timeframes as Kutztown Road, between Geryville Pike and the Bucks County line.

These projects aim to improve road safety and create a smoother driving surface through asphalt paving. PennDOT advises motorists to plan for extra travel time due to potential delays. All operations are weather dependent and aim to provide enhanced road conditions for the region’s drivers.
