READING, PA — Attic To Auction, LLC, has announced an extraordinary item set to be featured in its upcoming Valentine’s Jewelry Auction. The centerpiece of the event is the Koninklijk Necklace, a piece of jewelry with a fascinating royal history.

The necklace was presented to Mary Hull, the owner of Attic To Auction, by Canadian author Robert Joseph Greene and was designed by the late renowned jeweler Eddy Sabbe of Antwerp, Belgium.

The intrigue surrounding this necklace lies in its connection to European royalty. In 2009, the necklace was shown to Princess Máxima, who later ascended to the throne as Queen Máxima of the Netherlands. Known for her fondness for citrine, Queen Máxima had the opportunity to acquire this exquisite piece, yet surprisingly, decided against it. The jeweler named the piece the Koninklijk Necklace to commemorate its presentation to the royal family.

But the Koninklijk Necklace isn’t the only piece with regal influences on the auction block. A student designer inspired by traditional royal jewels crafted the Sovereign Necklace. This stunning piece features faceted blue topaz and oval amethyst stones.

“Some of the necklaces have a reserve price set, but the ranges are low,” said Hull, expressing her excitement about the upcoming Valentine’s auction.

The Valentine’s Jewelry Auction promises to be a thrilling event for jewelry enthusiasts and collectors, offering a rare opportunity to bid on pieces with royal affiliations. The auction will take place on February 10, 2024, at 6 PM Eastern Standard Time.
