Attention Drivers: Prepare for Delays on U.S. 422 and Local Roads in Lower Pottsgrove Township

Traffic Restrictions

LOWER POTTSGROVE TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a significant construction initiative aimed at enhancing the infrastructure of U.S. 422, Sanatoga Road, and Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County. This ambitious project, with an investment of $83.6 million, seeks to reconstruct approximately 2.1 miles of the expressway and replace several bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road.

The construction schedule is set to commence on Monday, October 28, and continue through Friday, November 1. During this period, motorists can expect intermittent single lane closures on westbound U.S. 422 from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM, stretching from Evergreen Road (Sanatoga Interchange) to Armand Hammer Boulevard. The focus will be on road and bridge reconstruction, essential for improving the safety and efficiency of the expressway.

Simultaneously, Sanatoga Road and Porter Road will experience intermittent single lane closures with 15-minute traffic stoppages in both directions, between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. These traffic adjustments are necessary to facilitate bridge demolition activities. On Sanatoga Road, the affected area extends from E. High Street to Linfield Road, while on Porter Road, it spans from E. High Street to Sanatoga Station Road. Additionally, eastbound U.S. 422 will face similar lane closures from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM between Keim Street and Evergreen Road (Sanatoga Interchange).

Motorists are advised to plan accordingly, as these construction activities are expected to cause traffic delays and backups. The scheduled work is contingent upon favorable weather conditions.
