Arrest Made in Connection with April 27 Wilmington Shooting

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of 26-year-old Saury Uribe-Ynfante in connection with a shooting incident that took place on April 27.

The criminal complaint alleges that on April 27 at approximately 5:26 p.m., police responded to the 500 block of Christiana Avenue in reference to a shooting incident that had occurred. Police located a 30-year-old male gunshot victim, who arrived at the hospital in stable condition.

The case was assigned to Detective Joran Merced of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Merced identified 26-year-old Saury Uribe-Ynfante as a suspect. Warrants were obtained for his arrest, and he was taken into custody without incident on May 11.

Uribe-Ynfante has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Assault (First Degree)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Aggravated Menacing
  • Reckless Endangering (First Degree) – Two Counts
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child
  • Discharging a Firearm on a City Street

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released after posting $44,500 secured bail.
