Arrest Made in Catalytic Converter Theft Incident

NEWPORT, DE – Newport Police announced the arrest of 42-year-old Cam Herring and 32-year-old Samantha Huck, both Newark, after an investigation into a catalytic converter theft incident that occurred on February 26th, 2023.

Samantha Huck was apprehended on March 12th, 2023. She was charged with a traffic violation, theft under $1,500.00, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, and conspiracy third degree. She was arraigned at the Justice of The Peace Court 11 via videophone where she was issued a $3,000.00 unsecured bail and ordered to have no contact with Cam Herring.

Cam Herring turned himself in at the Newport Police Department on March 17th, 2023. He was charged with theft under $1,500.00, criminal mischief, criminal trespass, and conspiracy third degree. He was arraigned via videophone at the Justice of The Peace Court 2 and was issued a $2,000.00 secured bail. Mr. Herring was transported to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after failing to post bail.
