Armed Suspect Surrenders After 5-Hour Standoff at Delaware Apartments

NEWARK, DE — The Delaware State Police announced that an armed subject, who had barricaded himself at the Grove Apartments located in the 1100 block of Compass Way, Newark, surrendered to police Monday without further incident.

Authorities stated that on June 5, 2023, a male suspect, armed with a handgun, barricaded himself in an apartment around 1 PM. After approximately five hours, he surrendered to Troopers and was taken into custody without incident. Authorities reported no injuries.
