Armed Robbery at Wawa in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE — The Delaware State Police announced they are investigating an armed robbery of a delivery truck that occurred Friday evening in Wilmington.

Authorities stated that on April 21, 2023, at approximately 8:15 p.m., troopers responded to the Wawa located at 2030 Limestone Road for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred. Troopers arrived and learned that a tractor-trailer had been parked next to the store while a 58-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were unloading and delivering products for Wawa. Two suspects walked into the trailer, and one of the suspects removed a handgun from his waistband. The two suspects then stole numerous boxes of cigarettes from inside of the trailer and fled from the area in an unknown direction. Neither victim was harmed in the robbery.

Both suspects were described as black males in their early 20’s, approximately 5’10” to 6’00” tall with thin builds. Surveillance video and images are not yet available.

The Troop 2 Robbery Unit is investigating this incident. Detectives are asking for anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective R. Kirchenbauer by calling 302-365-8525.
