PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Alliance for Decision Education has unveiled its inaugural Research Grant program, inviting researchers to submit Letters of Inquiry for funding. This initiative aims to advance the field of Decision Education by fostering research focused on enhancing decision-making skills among K-12 students.

The grants will support projects in critical research areas, encouraging practical application and dissemination of findings. The program promotes partnerships across institutions, disciplines, and sectors to build a robust network of researchers dedicated to the ongoing development of Decision Education.

“Our goals are to inspire researchers, disseminate findings to raise the visibility of the field, and drive demand,” said Adriana Massara, Interim Executive Director at the Alliance. “By supporting research focused on decision-making skills in K-12 students, we aim to learn more about how young people decide and how to best equip them with the decision skills needed to become more engaged citizens, make informed decisions, and drive positive change within their communities.”

The grants will fund research in several critical areas, such as understanding cognitive processes behind decision-making in young people, developing effective educational interventions, and evaluating the long-term impact of these interventions on students’ lives. The Alliance emphasizes the importance of disseminating research findings to ensure practical applications reach educators, policymakers, and the broader community.

Fostering collaboration is a primary objective of the grant program. By bringing together experts from different fields, the Alliance aims to create a comprehensive approach to Decision Education. This interdisciplinary collaboration is expected to lead to innovative solutions and strategies for improving decision-making skills in students.

The grant program also seeks to elevate the profile of Decision Education. The Alliance hopes to highlight its significance in preparing students for the future and creating a sustainable impact on educational outcomes.
