63-Year-Old Suspect Arrested for Burglary in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of 63-year-old Christopher Brown following a burglary investigation.

The criminal complaint alleges that on April 24, at approximately 3:20 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1700 block of North Bancroft Parkway, in reference to a burglary. The case was assigned to Detective Brendan Shea of the Criminal Investigations Division.

Through the course of his investigation, Detective Shea identified 63-year-old Christopher Brown as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. On May 9, members of the Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant in the unit block of Chiming Road, and took Brown into custody without incident.

Brown has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Burglary (Second Degree)
  • Theft Over $1,500
  • Criminal Mischief Under $1,000

He was arraigned in New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $12,100.
