WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have announced the arrest of a 20-year-old man on gun charges.
Juda Burnett has been charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, and Resisting Arrest.
The criminal complaint alleges that on June 18, at approximately 10:26 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1100 block of Carpenter Street, in reference to a vehicle collision. Upon arrival, officers observed the driver of one of the vehicles flee on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, officers took 20-year-old Juda Burnett into custody without incident and recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $16,000 cash-only bail.
