2 People Arrested After Allegedly Selling Drugs Near a School

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of Jamil Smith and Tashira Wilmore on drug charges.

Authorities stated that on February 13 at approximately 11:46 a.m., members of Wilmington’s Drug, Organized Crime and Vice Division were conducting an investigation in the 300 block of West 7th Street. Officers observed two individuals reportedly engage in several drug-related transactions. Officers conducted a pedestrian stop on both subjects, Jamil Smith and Tashira Wilmore, who were taken into custody without incident. Smith was found to be in possession of .9 grams of marijuana and $253 in currency, and Wilmore was found to be in possession of 5.2 grams of marijuana and $292 in currency.

Smith has been charged with the following offense:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released on $2,500 unsecured bail.

Wilmore has been charged with the following offense:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver

She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
