WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of 19-year-old Raiys Muhammed, wanted on an outstanding warrant, on gun and drug charges.
Authorities state that on December 13 at approximately 12:02 p.m., members of Wilmington’s Street Crimes Unit were in the 700 block of East 11th Street, when they observed Raiys Muhammed. Officers were aware that Muhammed had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and took him into custody without incident. Following a brief investigation, police recovered two 9mm handguns, one that was reported stolen, additional ammunition, and 39.03 grams of marijuana.
Muhammed was charged with the following offenses in addition to his outstanding warrants:
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited – 2 counts
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – 2 counts
- Receiving a Stolen Firearm
- Possession of Marijuana
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $63,001 cash-only bail.
