WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have charged an 18-year-old in connection with multiple robbery incidents and a shots fired incident that took place on July 4.
On July 4, Wilmington Police were dispatched at approximately 6:55 a.m. to the 3000 block of North Market Street, and again at 8:44 a.m. to the 300 block of West 35th Street, in reference to robbery incidents that had occurred. Officers were dispatched again at approximately 9:01 a.m. to the unit block of West 30th Street in reference to a shots fired incident with no injuries.
The cases were assigned to Detective Kevin Nolan of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Nolan identified 18-year-old Israel Lecompte as a suspect in all three incidents and obtained arrest warrants.
Lecompte was taken into custody on July 15 and has been charged with the following offenses:
- Robbery (First Degree) – 2 Counts
- Reckless Endangering
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition During the Commission of a Felony – 5 Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon – 2 Counts
- Conspiracy (Second Degree) – 3 Counts
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and was committed to the Delaware Department of Correction on $1,000,000 cash-only bail.
