18-Year-Old Arrested on Gun Charges in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest fo 18-year-old Kemani Evans on gun charges.

The criminal complaint alleges that on April 25, at approximately 8:54 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division conducted a vehicle stop in the 900 block of N. Pine Street. Police made contact with 18-year-old Kemani Evans, and following a brief investigation recovered a loaded 9mm handgun, and 1 gram of marijuana. Evans was taken into custody without incident.

Evans has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
  • Possession of Marijuana

Evans was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Delores J. Baylor Correction Institution on $20,000 cash-only bail.
